WELCOME TO THE 2009-2010 CONCERT SEASON!

As we begin our 21st season, we present an outstanding group of concerts featuring a truly remarkable group of guest artists.

We are excited to announce our opening concert on October 24 will feature SHIELDS-COLLINS BRAY, who is returning to us after a long hiatus. A native of Louisiana, Buddy is a big favorite with Fort Worth and Cliburn audiences and we look forward to his return.

ANTONIO POMPA-BALDI is returning on November 14 for his fourth concert with us. He travels the world holding master classes as well as making beautiful music wherever he goes. We are so happy he will be with us again this year.

Our all-time favorite, JON NAKAMATSU, the Cliburn gold medalist in 1997, returns on December 5. He has developed a widespread group of audiences all over the world, but he likes our friendliness and especially the high quality of our musical performances, and he comes back every year to our great pride and joy. Flutist NADINE ASIN will join us again for a repeat performance — she was so popular last year that audience acclaim is bringing her back to us for a second time.

ADAM GOLKA will be our guest artist at our Mostly Mozart New Year Celebration on January 2. We discovered him as a child genius and we’re still discovering him — even though his reach is carrying him beyond and farther still.

LUCILLE CHUNG, a newcomer to our concert series, is playing her first concert with us on January 30 in a stunning program of Brahms and Dohnányi. Harpist NAOKO NAKAMURA returns to us with a beautiful Spohr duo for this concert also.

We are so happy that TAMÁS UNGÁR will return to us again on March 20. His PianoTexas International Academy for young pianists at TCU is such an important part of our Fort Worth musical community and we are so excited to have Tamás play with us.

On April 10 we will feature ALESSIO BAX in his third concert with us playing a wonderful concert of Mendelssohn and Bridge. He won first prize at the Leeds Competition in 2000. Another great winner!

Now I’ve told you about the guest artists. Please look at our brochure to get a feel for the high quality of music and performances. We’re very proud of what is probably our very finest season! Looking forward to you enjoying it with us!
